Leather backpacks: popular companions for everyday use
Leather backpacks are timeless classics, perfect for everyday life and professional settings alike. Leather backpack materials and their properties

Vegan leather – does it count as a genuine leather backpack?
Admittedly, the term “vegan leather” can be misleading. It combines two concepts that are, in principle, contradictory. Vegan means completely free from animal-based materials—so a vegan leather backpack is not a traditional genuine leather backpack. Instead, these models are made from innovative plant fibres or synthetic materials that mimic the appearance of real leather but are 100% animal-free. The visual resemblance is why they are referred to as vegan leather.
How to care for your leather backpack properly
Whether you've chosen a business-ready leather laptop backpack or a characterful vintage model, proper care will extend the life of your favourite companion. It’s best to treat your leather backpack with a water-repellent spray before its first use and regularly thereafter—to protect it from moisture and prevent water stains. Bonus: this also shields the leather from minor dirt and marks! If your backpack does get wet, never dry it in direct sunlight or on a radiator. Instead, stuff it with paper and let it air-dry. Always follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and test any product on an inconspicuous area first.
